Lhasa – Everest base camp – Lhasa tour.

Day 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1345meters). Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu and will be displaying with DOLPA ADVENTURE TREKS AND TOURS signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel . Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02 : Pre-trip Meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley : Optional In the morning of after breakfast at around 8 am, we host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduce your trek leader/guide. Please seek this opportunity to ask questions about your tour in Nepal. After the meeting and a hearty breakfast, your sightseeing trip will start at around 9:45am. Sightseeing places will be : Pashupatinath, Boudhnath, Swoyambhunath stupa and Kathmandu durbar square. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. The rest of your time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in Thamel area near by your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa and Arrive Gongar Airport. Upon arrival transfer to Lhasa. After two and half hours flight we will arrive in Gongar Airport and half an hour drive from there we will reach Lhasa, O/N in Lhasa
Day 04: Sightseeing of Lhasa including Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street After breakfast we will visit the Potala palace, the Palace of the Dalai Lama. This architectural masterpiece is the symbol of unity of the Tibetans. This palace was built by King Soongtsan Gampo, who was married to Princess Wen Cheng Tang in 641 A.D. It has got 999 houses built on Hongshan Hill with a red building on top. It is one of the grandest Palaces in the world till date. After lunch we will drive towards the Jokhang Temple, the most scared temple for Tibetan Buddhists. After spending some time at the Jokhang temple we will walk through the Barkhor Street, a traditional old street in Lhasa. O/N in Lhasa
Day 05: Full day Sightseeing of Lhasa covering Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery We will start the sightseeing today from Norbulingka - the summer palace of the Dalai Lama, located along the Kyichu River and two kilometers west of the Potala Palace. This Palace has a huge garden covering 360,000 square meters, making it the biggest manmade garden in Tibet. It has got 374 rooms. The second site is Drepung Monastery, made by Chojey Tashi Palden in the 14th Century. It had four departments, of which Loseling, or "The Hermitage of the Radiant Mind," was the largest, housing more than three quarters of Drepung's ten to fifteen thousand monks. Now it is one of Tibet’s premier monastic educational institutions The last site for today is Sera Monastery, built in 1419; this grand Monastery was home to more than 5,000 monks and five monastic colleges. Although much less active now, with only several hundred monks currently in residence, one of the most interesting times to visit the monastery is in the afternoon when monks, after finishing their morning scripture classes, can be seen debating in the courtyard. Day 06: Drive to Gyantse (3950m) We will make a early morning visit to the Tashilumpo Monastery and the market of Bazaar .We will drive further to Gyantse, a couple of hours drive In the 15th century it served as the capital of a small Kingdom. Kumbum Chorten a 14th century monument is a place worth visiting here. O/N in Gyantse
Day 07: Drive to Xigatse. (3900m.) The program starts today after we visit Khumbum Stupa & Palkor Monastery. After completing the sightseeing of the Gyantse we will drive towards Xigatse, 90 Km from Gyantse and about 2 hours of drive. After check in at hotel and a brief rest we will visit the free Tibetan Market and the Tashilumpo Monastery. O/N in Xigatse
Day 08: Drive to Xegar. (4040m.) We have a long drive of 245 Km today from Xigatse to Xegar. The Total duration of drive is 8 hours before we reach the hotel for overnight stay. O/N in Xegar
Day 09: Drive to Dza Rongphu (4920m.) We will start driving towards Dza Rongphu village today which is 60 Km away from Xegar and prepare for the excursion to the highlight of the trip, Everest base camp on the Tibetan side. O/N in Rongphu
Day 10: Hike to Everest base camp. (5090m.) We will hike for around 2 hours from Rongbuk Monastery to reach the northern base camp of the highest peak Mount Everest a.k.a Qomolongma in Tibetan. We will explore the area, take pictures of the highest peak, and visit the Ronghu Glacier and return to Rongphu before sunset. O/N in Rongphu
Day 11: Drive to Shakya Monastery. (3900M.)-160km The sunrise over Everest will wake us up and we will start driving to the Shakya Monastery which was built in the 1073 A.D by Gongjue Jiebu, to spread his esoteric theory of Buddhism in the whole world.This monastery got the name Shakya as it was built on the chalky hill and Shakya means chalky earth in Tibetan. O/N in Shakya Monastery
Day 12: Drive to Lhasa via Xigatse. We will drive for around 7 hours (250 Km) to reach Lhasa for overnight. We will not follow the same route we used while coming. O/N in Lhasa
Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu After breakfast drive to Gongar airport and fly back to Kathmandu. O/N in Kathmandu
Day 14 : Free day in Kathmandu. Today, Pax have their own free time in Kathmandu for their final shopping and packing. O/N in Kathmandu
Day 15 : Departure to final destination. Morning time is free in Kathmandu and afternoon will transfer to airport for the final destination.
