Tamang Heritage Trek.

The Tamang Heritage Trail takes you through verdant midlands of Nepal experiencing traditional cultural practice with the magnificent Himali region. The trail passes through traditional Tamang villages which are untouched with the modern majestic living style. Hearty welcome by locals, rich architecture of their mountain houses, and the ancient monasteries and places of pray add color to the trial.

The trail starts either from Dhunche or Syabrubesi and passes through Goljung, Gatlang, Chilime, Thuman, Timure and Briddim. The trail may end back in Syabrubesi or follow the Langtang trek from Briddim village via Khanjim. Goljung and Gatlang are traditional Tamang villages where one can have cultural experience. You can also visit the beautiful local Tamang monastery and the holy Parvati kunda Lake at Gatlang. From the viewpoint at Bahundanda near these settlements, one can also see a panoramic view of Lantang, Kerung, and the Ganesh Himal, Sanjen Himal ranges.

After the trek of several days, bathing in the hot, healing waters of the natural spring at Tatopani en route from Gatlang to Chilime is an exhilarating experience. Brimdang offers cultural experience at community-run home-stay. A fort at Rasuwagadi in Timure is a historical reminder of the Nepal-Tibet relations that has existed for many centuries. A suspension bridge links Nepal and Tibet. The trail ends at Briddim which lies on the lap of Langtang Himal. Briddim offers warm Tamang hospitality at the home-stays run by community members. In addition, tourists can also visit local monasteries of Dukchu Gompa chosen as sacred site by the great Tibetan Lama – Guru Rinpoche, and Chukia Khnaga Gompa.

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1345meters). Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport in Kathmandu and will be displaying with DOLPA ADVENTURE TREKS AND TOURS signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel . Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2 Pre-trip Meeting and Sightseeing around Kathmandu valley : Optional In the morning of after breakfast at around 8 am, we host a pre-trip meeting at your hotel in Kathmandu and introduce your trek leader/guide. Please seek this opportunity to ask questions about your tour in Nepal. After the meeting and a hearty breakfast, your sightseeing trip will start at around 9:45am. Sightseeing places will be : Pashupatinath, Boudhnath, Swoyambhunath stupa and Kathmandu durbar square. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. The rest of your time in Kathmandu is free for further exploration and some last-minute shopping in Thamel area near by your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3 Kathmandu to Syabrubesi [1460m] We have an early departure for the 7 hour drive to our starting point at the foot of the Langtang Valley. The road takes a spectacular route, climbing high over the ridges to escape the Kathmandu Valley and providing us with a superb panorama of the Himalaya, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the peaks of the Langtang region that we will soon become better acquainted with. We then plunge down into the Trisuli River valley which we follow for most of the day’s drive. Overnight at Syabrubesi.
Day 4 Syabru besi trek to Gatlang [2238m] : Approx Walking Time: 5 ½ hours After an hour and half of ascent from Syabrubesi we reach the view point from where we can see the fantastic view of Ganesh Himal, Gosainkund range and the Goljang valley. From here we head down to Goljang valley for lunch which will take us about an hour down hill from the view point. Tonight we stay in Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village, about 3 hrs walk from Goljang. Overnight at Gatlang.
Day 5 Gatlang trek to Tatopani [2380m] : Approx Walking Time: 7 hours Today’s walk begins by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by a lovely khola (river), where we stop for lunch. After lunch the trail will take us up again, first crossing a hanging bridge and climbing to Tatopani which literally means ‘hot water’. Here we can enjoy the natural hot springs nestled in the lap of the mountains. Locals believe that the waters have a healing quality that eases away your aches and pains. Overnight at Tatopani.
Day 6 Gatlang trek to Tatopani [2380m] : Approx Walking Time: 7 hours Today’s walk begins by descending to Thangbuchet (near Chilime village) by a lovely khola (river), where we stop for lunch. Day 8 Briddim trek to Syabrubesi : Approx Walking Time: 3 hours After a last hearty breakfast on the trail, our trek descends down to Syabrubesi which is just 3 hours walk from Briddim. Lunch and rest of the day is free to explore and relax! Overnight at Syabrubesi.
Day 9 Syabrubesi to Kathmandu After breakfast, Drive back with Jeep to Kathmandu. O/N in Kathmandu
Day 10 Free day in Kathmandu. Today, Pax have their own free time in Kathmandu for their final shopping and packing. O/N in Kathmandu
Day 11 Departure to final destination. Morning time is free in Kathmandu and afternoon will transfer to airport for the final destination
